Basic Rules & Sweepstakes Ethics After the Win/Handling Disputes

Basic Sweepstakes Rules

It's great to win a sweepstakes, but if you didn't follow the rules, or you aren't eligible to win, you might not be able to claim your prize. The following are general rules used by the majority of sweepstakes we come across, they are by no means meant to be inclusive, we recommend at least skimming the rules of all sweepstakes you enter. With that said, here are the basics:

	You should know the # of times you may enter the sweepstake and whether it is open to you. Most sweeps open to Canadian residents are void in Quebec, and many US sweeps are now void in FL & NY. Like most sweepstakes sites, we try to list this information for you, but we are not perfect - it's up to you to know whether sweeping is legal in your county/state/providence.
	Sweepstakes giving away vehicles, or those run by vehicle manufactures usually require the winner to hold a valid drivers license & insurance at the time of the win.
	Trips being given away to other Countries may require that you hold a valid passport in order to be declared the winner.
	If a sweepstakes requires you to join a sponsors mailing list and you request to be removed prior to the end of the contest you usually void your entry as well.
	In order to win liquor-related prizes, or those sponsored by such companies you must be of legal drinking age in your state/providence. Some areas have special liquor laws which may also apply.
	Many sweepstakes sponsors are now banning automated entries, (services or software that enter for you, without you actually visiting the sponsors site) if you use such software or services & the sponsor does not allow this type of entry your win will be revoked.
